The annual event hosted online by The International Jack Benny Fan Club is set to return in February 2024. The virtual gathering is held each year around the time of Jack Benny’s birthday, the 14th of February: this year it runs on the 16th, 17th and 18th of February. The convention is accessed via a shared Zoom room.
Features in this year’s event include the return of renowned impressionist Rich Little; a discussion with Benny’s grandchildren; an interview with the son of voice actor Mel Blanc, Noel Blanc; Hometowns to Hollywood presentation on The Jack Benny Program cast member Phil Harris; a panel discussing Benny’s musical career with Stuart Canin, recreations of Jack Benny material; podcasts on related subjects; and more.
The International Jack Benny Fan Club say “Jack Benny’s influence is present within popular culture today with comedians such as Conan O’Brien, Steve Martin, Bob Newhart, and authors like Neil Gaiman often sharing their admiration for the comedian”.
