Chas & Dave’s Christmas Knees-Up added to ITVX

Streaming service ITVX has added Chas & Dave’s Knees-Up just in time for the Christmas season.

The special was produced by London Weekend Television, and first broadcast in 1982. It has been a staple of Christmas schedules for many years, having recently had airings on Channel 5 and Yesterday.

The special is hosted by the Pop Rock duo of Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock, who perform a number of their hits in a pub setting. They are joined by a number of music guests including Eric Clapton and Albert Lee. Comedy is provided by comedians including Jimmy Cricket. Jim Davidson was originally part of this special, but has been edited out.

Chas & Dave were a popular music act in the late 70s and 80s, performing a genre entitled Rockney; It encompassed several different genres including Rock n Roll, Boogie Woogie and Pub Singalongs; Topped off with humour. Their hits included Gertcha, Ain’t No Pleasing You and Rabbit.
