Fabulous Films to release Count Duckula on DVD

Fabulous Films is to release the complete series of Cosgrove Hall’s Count Duckula on DVD.

Count Duckula was a spin-off of another Cosgrove Hall production, Danger Mouse. The show was produced by Thames Television, and featured David Jason (Danger Mouse himself) as the title character. Beginning in 1988, it ran for 65 episodes over 4 series.

It was narrated by Barry Clayton with Jason, Clayton, Jimmy Hibbert, Ruby Wax, Brian Truman and Jack May providing additional voices. The memorable opening and closing theme were composed by Mike Harding.

High above the Transylvanian Alps stands the dark and foreboding Castle Duckula, for centuries the home of the terrifying, blood sucking Duckula vampires.

Terrifying until now…the current Count is a vegetarian vampire with a desire for show business!

Accompanied by his long-suffering man-servant Igor and his clumsy house-keeper Nanny, Duckula uses his teleporting castle to seek his fame and fortune across the world!
