Terry and June Added to ITVX Premium

Good news for viewers who may have missed the recent airings on Drama, the classic BBC sitcom Terry and June has landed on ITVX Premium! After being off the air for several years, the show’s sudden resurgence will please fans.

Terry and June, a sitcom featuring June Whitfield and Terry Scott, debuted on the BBC in 1979. The show portrayed the domestic life of a middle-aged, middle-class couple across 65 episodes and 9 series, concluding in 1987. Before this, Whitfield and Scott co-starred in Happily Ever After, which was broadcast from 1974 to 1979.

This would turn out to be one of the last projects that Terry Scott was involved in, he passed away in 1994. June Whitfield would go on to feature in dozens more roles before her passing in 2018, including Absolutely Fabulous, Boomers and Last of the Summer Wine. She also featured as a panellist on Blankety Blank.

Terry and June is offered on the platform with an advisory warning which says “Contains discriminatory language of the period.”. There is then the option to activate parental controls should the user want to hide content labelled as such. 64 out of the 65 episodes are available to stream, the reason behind the missing episode is unclear at this time. It could be a technical error, a licensing issue or an uneditable piece of content. The whole series has previously been issued on DVD. We will update this article if new information comes to light.

ITVX Premium is available via a subscription fee. It is ad-free and includes content from Britbox and StudioCanal Presents. Other classic sitcoms available to stream include Sorry!, The Good Life and The Brittas Empire. 64 episodes of Terry and June can be streamed on ITVX Premium.
