Santa Claus: The Movie comes to UK cinemas and 4K UHD

StudioCanal have announced the UK cinema release of the 4K restoration of Santa Claus: The Movie. This is alongside 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital editions which also feature the restored version.

Santa Claus: The Movie was originally released in the cinema in 1985. It starred David Huddleston as Santa Claus, Judy Cornwell as Mrs. Claus, Dudley Moore as Patch the Elf and John Lithgow as morally corrupt toy manufacturer B.Z.

The story follows how a humble man who enjoyed making toys for the children in his village became the Father of Christmas in the red suit.

Also featuring such well-known legends as Burgess Meredith and Melvyn Hayes, the film is filled with magical turns and sights. Along with the special effects and puppetry, this brings an elevated sense of the season to the now-classic

The home media release includes special features, all of which have been part of some previous DVD issues except for the brand new interview with Judy Cornwell.

Santa Claus: The Movie will be in cinemas from November 24th 2023.

The 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital editions will be available on 13th November 2023. They are currently available for pre-order here.
