2019’s Patsy and Loretta has landed on Disney+ in the UK. The film is based on the true life friendship between music legends Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn.
Patsy and Loretta chronicles Loretta’s entrance into the music industry in Nashville, when Patsy was already established. Cline took Lynn under her wing and the two formed a close friendship. It follows their individual stories, touching on their histories, struggles and demons, as well as the ways they helped and supported each other.
The film stars Megan Hilty as Patsy Cline and Jessie Mueller as Loretta Lynn. The director is Callie Khouri, who is well known both for projects surrounding the Nashville music business and crafting stories about strong female partnerships.
