Ivor the Engine Coming to Blu-Ray

It has been announced that the classic seIvor the Engine will be making it’s debut on Blu-Ray.

Ivor the Engine first debuted in 1959, and was created, written, animated and narrated by Oliver Postgate. Peter Firmin provided the artwork. The show utilised a stop motion technique with cardboard cutouts. It ran for 26 episodes in black and white. Then it was revived in 1975 for 40 episodes in colour, ending it’s run in 1977.

The Blu-Ray set from Fabulous Films, will include the complete series; Including the rarely-seen black-and-white episodes. Each one has been scanned and remastered from all surviving original elements.

Other series by Smallfilms included The Clangers, Pogles’ Wood, Noggin the Nog and Bagpuss; The latter also being released on Blu-Ray in October.

The complete series of Ivor the Engine will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on Fabulous Films. It will be released on the 26th of October 2023.
