Cliff Richard to feature in the Brits Are Rocking series

Bear Family Records are set to release the tenth entry into their long-running The Brits Are Rocking series. The series of CDs, which has paid tribute to British artists including Tommy Steele, Johnny Kidd, Tony Sheridan and Billy Fury, will pay tribute to Cliff Richard’s early years in its tenth edition.

The album will feature 34 tracks by Cliff Richard and the Shadows (earlier known as The Drifters) recorded between 1958 and 1962. The focus will be on the uptempo numbers in Cliff’s early catalogue, with tracks including Move It, Dynamite, Never Mind and Nine Times Out of Ten. As has become the standard in previous editions, there are many cover versions of American Rock ‘n’ Roll standards.

As with other releases in the series, there will be an illustrated booklet with photographs and discography details. It will also include extensive liner notes by British Beat and Rock ‘n’ Roll expert Ashley Wood.
