Classic Sitcom The Larkins coming to Talking Pictures

Archive channel Talking Pictures TV has announced their plans to broadcast the classic British sitcom The Larkins, starring Peggy Mount and David Kossoff.

The series, produced by ATV for ITV, initially ran for four series between 1958 and 1960. It was revived, in a different format, for a further two series between 1963 and 1964. Forty episodes were made in total.

The cast featured Mount and Kossoff alongside Ruth Trouncer, Ronan O’Casey and Barbara Mitchell. The series was adapted into a feature film, Inn For Trouble, in 1960.

“66 Sycamore Street is home to The Larkins. Alf (Kassoff) refuses to believe that he’s henpecked. Ada’s (Mount) determined to make sure that he is. Joyce (Trouncer) still lives at home with her unsuccessful writer of a husband, Jeff (O’Casey). Eddie (Shaun O’Riordan) is as clueless to life as he is to the romantic feelings of the girl next door. And the girl next door’s Mum just wants to borrow tea – and everything else.”

Synopsis for The Larkins from IMDB

The Larkins start Sunday 26th March at 2.30pm, continuing every Sunday.
