Making Magic: 100 Years of Disney at BFI Southbank in Summer 2023

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, the event will include screenings of classic and beloved films as well as special talks, singalongs and more.

It begins on 6th July with a screening of Cinderella, which is the UK premiere of a newly restored edition of the 1950 animated classic, alongside a panel later that evening discussing and outlining the upcoming Disney season.

Animation plays a key role in the schedule, with such favourites as Snow White (1937), Bambi (1942), Jungle Book (1967), Beauty and the Beast (1993) and Zootropolis (2016).

However, live-action and hybrid movies will also be an important part of the celebration, with screenings of family favourites The Parent Trap (1961), Mary Poppins (1964), Tron (1982) and Sister Act (1992) lined up.

Even Pixar, a company which started independently and later joined the Disney family, will be joining in with hits such as Toy Story (1995), Finding Nemo (2003) and Turning Red (2022).

Every screening will also include a lesser seen Disney short feature, from different eras of the company.

The BFI’s Making Magic: 100 Years of Disney at the Southbank begins on 6th July 2023. Tickets for July screenings are available to BFI Patrons and Champions on 5th June, BFI Members on 6th June and for non-members from 8th June. For August screenings, tickets for Patrons and Champions become available on 3rd July, for Members on 4th July and non-members on 6th July.
