Talking Pictures TV to launch TPTV Encore service on Red Button

British channel Talking Pictures TV has announced its intention to launch a red-button application of its TPTV Encore service. Accessible on Freeview channel 82, the service will be available from the 1st of September 2022.

TPTV Encore launched on the 1st of December 2021, as a free online browser-only catch-up service for the channel. Alongside selected TV and film programming from the channel, there is also access to archive programming from Southern Television and Four Star Productions. It is also home to the back catalogue of episodes of original series including The Footage Detectives, presented by Mike Read and Talking Pictures‘ own Noel Cronin.

Originally launched on December 1st 2021 TPTV Encore has so far only been accessible via, and one of the most frequent questions we’re asked is ‘how can I watch on my TV?’. We’ve listened to those calls for easier access to the catch up service via a TV set, and this has been the driving force behind the red button launch. The launch will be unique. To our knowledge, Talking Pictures TV will be the only independent channel on Freeview to offer a red button VOD service. We’re so excited to bring this new phase of TPTV Encore to our viewers, and we think it’ll be a massive hit.
