The Cat From Outer Space coming to Talking Pictures TV

Talking Pictures TV have announced they will broadcast Disney film The Cat From Outer Space in April 2024.

Following on from their broadcast of Disney‘s The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin on Wednesday 27th March, The Cat From Outer Space will air on Sunday 7th April 2024. Like Bullwhip, Cat was part of the recent exodus of many of the vintage live-action comedies from Disney Plus.

The Cat From Outer Space was released in 1978. The film stars Ken Berry as scientist Frank Wilson and Ronnie Schell as the voice of Jake the cat. Jake is the pilot of a spaceship which has crash-landed near a military facility. Frank takes charge of him after realising he can talk. He and his love interest Liz (Sandy Duncan) set about trying to help Jake obtain enough gold to repair his spaceship and return to his home planet. They are thwarted in their efforts by industrial spy Mr. Stallwood (Roddy McDowall), the General (Harry Morgan) and his men.

The film is now unavailable as part of any subscription service or ad-supported free streamers in the UK. It is only available for purchase or rental, so it is a bonus to find it available to watch on a free-to-air linear television channel.

The Cat From Outer Space will air on Talking Pictures TV on Sunday 7th April 2024 at 2.30 pm.
