Prop Culture removed from Disney+

Prop Culture is a 2020 documentary series, which delved into the Disney archives to find artefacts and materials used in the production of some of their most iconic movies.

The show featured costume pieces, original artwork, set pieces and props, as well as interviews with cast members and reuniting them with lost treasures and some surprises along the way.

There were 8 episodes, covering Mary Poppins, Tron, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, The Chronicles of Narnia, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and The Muppet Movie.

If you have logged into Disney+ this weekend and wondered where something from your ‘continue watching’ section has gone, it might have sounded something like “Why has Prop Culture been removed from Disney+?”.

Prop Culture is one of many titles that have just been removed from the streaming service, as of 27th May 2023, apparently as part of a cost-saving measure. It is unclear whether this content will be seen again on any other platform, but it seems that it will certainly be gone from Disney+ for the foreseeable future.
