Cinderella coming to Disney Plus in 4K in August 2023

Walt Disney’s 1950 fairytale masterpiece Cinderella will debut on Disney Plus on 25th August 2023. The brand new 4K transfer comes to streaming during World Princess Week, as part of the salute to Walt Disney Studios’ 100th Anniversary.

The all-new version, with lovingly restored sumptuous sound and vision, had its big-screen debut at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. This is fitting, as the film originally won its Golden Bear Award there, 52 years previously.

In order to complete the restoration, the team worked from the original nitrate negative from the Library of Congress.

Cinderella was a great success at the time of its original release, saving the studio from a bad financial position, as well as earning three Oscar nominations.

Directed by Wilfred Jackson, Hamilton Luske and Clyde Geronimi, Cinderella also boasts voice performances by Ilene Woods (The Gary Moore Show, The Ilene Woods Show), Eleanor Audley (Sleeping Beauty, Father Knows Best) and Verna Felton (Alice in Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp, Jungle Book), with music by Mack David, Jerry Livingstone and Al Hoffman.

The brand new 4K edition of Walt Disney’s 1950 animated feature Cinderella will be available to stream on Disney Plus from 25th August 2023.
