This New Year’s Eve, BBC4 will air an episode of Larry Grayson’s Generation Game. The episode in question is from New Year’s Eve 1979.
Featuring the legendary comedian Larry Grayson and hostess Isla St Clair, as well as special guests, the episode will feature the usual selection of silly games and challenges.
Based on a Dutch programme, The Generation Game originally began in 1971, presented first by Bruce Forsyth. The show featured a series of demonstrations and activities which then had to be recreated by teams of two, comprising of two generations of a family. Chaos and comedy usually ensued, all egged on by skilled presenters like Forsyth and Grayson.
