Talking Pictures TV has announced its intention to broadcast the 1960s American Spy Adventure series The Man From U.N.C.L.E, which will join the schedule in late December.
What is The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?
The show stars Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as secret agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, a globe-spanning organisation dedicated to tackling the sinister forces of Thrush.
Produced by MGM Television and Arena Productions, The Man from U.N.C.L.E originally aired on NBC between 1964 and 1968. It ran for 105 episodes over 4 series. In addition to the main cast, there were many guest appearances from names of the era, including Joan Crawford, Leslie Nielsen, Angela Lansbury, Vincent Price, Cesar Romero, Charles Ruggles, Kurt Russell and Terry-Thomas. The theme music was composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
The series spawned a spin-off entitled The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., starring Stefanie Powers, which ran for one season on NBC between 1966 and 1967. There was also a reunion movie, which brought back McCallum and Vaughan in the 1980s.

Jamie’s Reaction
This is another one of those series which I’ve heard about but have never seen. Once a staple in British TV reruns, I’m glad to see Talking Pictures is reviving it. It allows nostalgia from viewers who watched it, and discovery from those who have never seen it.
It’ll be cool to see Robert Vaughan and David McCallum in one of their most famous roles as Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin! A prime piece of 1960s television to take us into 2026!
When is The Man From U.N.C.L.E. being broadcast?
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. begins on Talking Pictures TV on Sunday, the 28th December. It will continue weekly in the same slot. Time to be confirmed. Please check the channel’s website for any schedule updates.
