No, Honestly to Air on That’s TV 3

That’s TV 3, the British archive TV channel, has announced it will broadcast the 1970s sitcom No, Honestly. The announcement was posted on their social media, accompanied by a video clip of the series. No broadcast date has been revealed yet, simply “This summer on That’s TV”

What is No, Honestly?

No, Honestly centres around Charles “C.D.” Danbee and Claira Burrell, depicting their meeting, courtship, and experiences leading up to their first wedding anniversary. Addressing an audience, much of the series is told in flashback. It starred real-life married couple John Alderton and Pauline Collins.

Produced by Humphrey Barclay for London Weekend Television, the series first aired in 1974. It ran for one series of thirteen episodes. It was written by Terrence Brady and Charlotte Bingham. The theme tune was written and performed by Lynsey de Paul.

Brady and Bingham went on to pen a similar series, Yes, Honestly, in 1976; This one featured Donal Donnelly and Liza Goddard.

That’s TV

The That’s TV network has significantly increased its offering of classic TV in recent years. What started as a single channel airing reruns of Benny Hill and Kenny Everett has expanded into multiple channels with classic programming.

In the last few weeks, That’s TV have begun to add further classic shows to their schedule. These include Oh, Doctor Beeching, Man About the House and Father, Dear Father. Regular programming includes On The Buses, Just Good Friends, Steptoe and Son and Benidorm. We will continue to update when new titles are announced.

That’s TV 3 is available to view on Freeview (71), Sky (183), and Virgin (296).

Jamie’s Reaction

This one is a surprise. I don’t think I’ve ever seen No, Honestly repeated on television. It is great to see That’s TV stepping up its game and providing some rarely seen gems to the schedule. It’s a shame that it’s stuck on That’s TV 3, but many titles do migrate over to the main channel eventually.

I am intrigued to see this one, having just seen Alderton in the series Please Sir. I’m sure it’ll be of interest to many people, given this married couple’s previous appearance in Upstairs Downstairs. Thank you to That’s TV for giving the opportunity to see this show once again!

When is No, Honestly on That’s TV 3?

A date for the start of broadcast of No, Honestly hasn’t been given yet, but is likely to be soon given the “summer” marker. We will update here when a date has been announced. Check the That’s TV schedule for more details.
