1970s BBC Anthology Series Coming to Talking Pictures TV

Talking Pictures TV has announced its intention to broadcast the BBC anthology series Supernatural, originally produced in 1977. The series is being broadcast as part of Caroline Munro’s Cellar Club strand.

What is Supernatural?

Supernatural is a British anthology television series that was produced by the BBC in 1977. The series consists of eight episodes, each telling a self-contained horror story.

Each episode revolves around a prospective member of the mysterious “Club of the Damned”, who is required to tell a horror story to gain admission. Their application for membership is judged on how frightening the story proves to be.

The series has a range of talent involved, including Robert Hardy, Denholm Elliott, Jeremy Brett, Lesley-Anne Down, Billie Whitelaw, and many more.

Jamie’s Reaction

Another rarely seen BBC series makes its way to Talking Pictures TV! I admire the fact that they seem to be digging deep and pulling out these gems. I can’t say I’m familiar with the series, but the names involved make it an intriguing prospect.

Apparently, this series received low ratings on the first transmission, mainly due to the Summertime airing time. Talking Pictures has positioned its airing as part of Caroline Munro’s Cellar Club late-night strand on its channel. Given the themes of this show, this looks to be a perfect match that will find an audience!

When is Supernatural broadcast on Talking Pictures TV?

Supernatural will first be broadcast on Talking Pictures TV on the 13th of February, as part of Cellar Club. It will air at 9 pm, continuing weekly at the same time. Please check the channel’s website for any schedule updates.
